Maria Paz Giambastiani
We were very sad to have been informed recently of the passing of Ms. Maria Paz Giambastiani.
Ms. Paz Giambastiani was a journalist and Argentine native who lived and worked in Spain. She lived with multiple sclerosis (MS) since 2005 and was a columnist for More Than Words, writing on disability and inclusion.
She authored several books and publications, including Multiple Sclerosis in the First Person and an MS employment guide, as well as being a blogger and lecturer. Ms. Paz Giambastiani hosted a successful radio program on MS titled ‘Discapacidad sin distancia [Disability without distance]’. She also collaborated with a professor at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain, focusing on communication, intervention, and other neurodegenerative and disability issues.
All at MS in the 21st Century recognize and appreciate the valuable contribution Ms. Paz Giambastiani made to the initiative and towards improving care for people living with MS. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
