A mapping study comparing educational resources for multiple sclerosis patients across the USA, Latin America, Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions

This poster was presented at the annual meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) in 2018, and showcases results from a mapping exercise which aimed to identify the number, format and topic of online educational materials for people with multiple sclerosis. This poster also presents analysis of the stakeholders who produce these resources.

The topics and amounts of resource produced varied significantly by stakeholder, as well as by region, highlighting the importance of different stakeholders for producing educational resources. Results showed that the USA produced almost as many resources as the rest of the regions combined, highlighting the importance of the internet as a global tool for accessing information. The topics of ‘communication with healthcare professionals’ and ‘information for families and carers’ were found to be under-represented, indicating potential educational gaps.
